Home prices in North Texas climbed about 3% higher in January compared to January 2023. The latest report from the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Index shows that DFW’s 2.9% increase was the largest in a year even though it was below the national average increase of about 6%. The highest gains were on the West Coast, with San Diego reporting an 11.2% gain and Los Angeles coming in about 8.6% higher. The housing market continues to seek a balance given higher mortgage rates and low inventory of homes for sale, among other factors.
